ahem. hi.

i'm dairoro

Or Ruth Leung, whichever is easier.

I’m a visual identity designer based in the UK. I love building brands. But honestly, I enjoy all kinds of visual creative work, like graphics, motion, video… OH and websites. Especially websites.

To the world, I probably look like another post-Covid ADHD sufferer from too much doom-scrolling. But to myself, I’m just a design enthusiast with too many ideas and not enough hours in the day.

My path here wasn’t straight though. I grew up in a typical East Asian family where art and design weren’t considered real careers. I was told to study hard and become a doctor. Any drawing tools or books had to be well hidden, or they are going into the bin.

Turns out, I was never meant to be a doctor. College didn’t work out, and I went into retail. Then at some point I started working at an Apple flagship store. At another point, I became their Creative Pro, specializing in Art & Design.

That role reminded me that creativity isn’t just a hobby. It is how I think, how I communicate, how I solve problems. Really grateful to have worked there.

At 38 25, I’m still deeply passionate about art and visual communication. This freelance design business feels like redemption for me. I didn’t get to chase this dream when I was younger, so now I’m building it properly.

how

s it work?

direction
We define the core of the project — its goals, positioning, and overall direction. This stage sets the foundation for how the work should feel and function, not just how it should look. Together, we establish a clear creative direction that guides every decision moving forward.
Typically 1–2 sessions before work begins (around 1 hour each)
01
development
With a clear direction in place, I develop the core creative work — whether that’s a brand identity, visual system, illustration, or digital experience. Each project is approached with focus and intention, building a cohesive outcome.
Timeframe depends on scope —
Brand Identity: ~2–3 weeks for initial concept
Website: ~4–8 weeks depending on complexity
02
delivery
We refine the work and translate it into its final form. This ensures everything is resolved, consistent, and ready to be used across its intended context — whether digital, physical, or both. You’ll receive a complete and considered outcome, ready for implementation.
